SUMMARY:Golden Idea Pitch Competition
DESCRIPTION:Southern Miss is wrapping up the third and final round of its annual Golden Idea Pitch Competition next week (Nov 17 19). The design of this experience is to support the launch of our students' top ideas by surrounding them with appropriate resources\, mentorship\, and seed funds.\n\n \n\nThis year's Top 11 finalists come from all across campus\, representing a diversity of programs ranging from Anthropology to STEM Education. They've identified problems and gaps in topics like solar energy\, food services\, recycling and sustainability\, video streaming services\, on-campus transportation\, rural community development\, and peer-to-peer sharing.\n\n \n\nAre you interested in leveraging your strengths\, interests\, and connections to help transform a student's idea into their dream venture?\n\nYou could be the missing piece to their success.\n\nJoin us for Golden Idea Weekend. Be the difference!\n\n \n\nGolden Idea Weekend\n\nThursday\, Nov 17\, 5:30 PM | Opening Pitches\n\nFriday\, Nov 18\, 8:00 AM until | Team Sessions\n\nSaturday\, Nov 19\, 10:00 AM | Final Pitches\n\n \n\nGolden Idea Weekend the Golden Idea Pitch Competition's third and final round consists of a first-ever opportunity designed to help prepare our finalists to launch their ideas in less than 48 hours. It all starts Thursday evening as the finalists pitch their ideas in hopes of 1) recruiting members of the audience (e.g.\, students\, faculty\, staff\, community members) to work alongside them on Friday and 2) requesting specific resources and skillsets (e.g.\, web development\, fabrication\, market research) needed to rapidly test and advance their ideas.\n\n \n\nJust want to catch the opening pitches? Great! Interested in participating more fully by adopting a student-led venture for the weekend? Wonderful!\n\nChoose your adventure by selecting your preferred level of involvement.
